Arctech Solar, a leading manufacturer and provider of solar tracking and racking solutions, has reportedly entered into a deal with Biosar Australia Pty Ltd., a subsidiary of AKTOR construction group based in Greece, for a 256.5MWp PV project in Australia. Sources with knowledge of the matter stated that the project, located at Ouyen in Victoria, will give a significant boost to Arctech Solar’s presence in the Australian PV market.

The sources further informed that the completion of the project is expected to be achieved by July 2019 and will involve the deployment of SkySmart which having the advantage of efficient factory pre-assembly, minimizing labor costs related on onsite field installations. SkySmart can supposedly handle a N-S slope of 20%, provides double-pitch drive through space for module-cleaning vehicles and only uses 219 foundations per MW.

Biosar is working with Arctech Solar so that the solar power plant can gain more economical competitiveness, Biosar’s Director, Mr. Polychronopoulos was quoted as saying. He added that Biosar’s experience in engineering and construction in combination with Arctech’s highly efficient solar tracking technology will help to maximize the solar energy generation of the project over the system’s life cycle.

Guy Rong, president of Arctech Solar’s international business, said that the company is committed towards the delivery of innovative and competitive products that meet the Australian market’s explicit requirements. The 256.5MWp project represents the confidence of investors and contractors on their products and vast experience, he surmised.

Rong also mentioned about the remarkable progress that Arctech Solar has made in Australia and the company intends to make further expansions in the country, starting by setting up a subsidiary this year for offering improved services to Australian clients.

Separate records show that Arctech Solar has signed another contract with the Yarranlea PV plant in Queensland’s Toowoomba, for supplying the 121MWp Arctracker Pro. As of now, the cumulative value of orders accrued by Arctech Solar for the supply of trackers in Australia is 400MWp.
